Tea cozy (British English: Tea cosy) is a British tradition that is either hand-knitted or made with thick fabrication layered with the puffy insulating material. It keeps teapot warm during infusing and serving. Simply cover the teapot with the tea cozy to reduce air circulation, which maintains freshness and reduces oxidation. Muff-style tea cozies even have slits for the teapot spouts and handle so that the cozies do not have to be removed while pouring.
